NEW CARD

I bought some Jolly (paper) Nation decoupage yesterday. The old goat does several dog shows through the year and I thought he could take a doz or so doggies type cards to sell.
They will sell on the stall anyway - they are such cute, fun cards with out being over the top slushy.
I have had such fun!!

How clever is that?

STUDY DAY

Have been at class today - we were watercolour stamping. I think that is one of my favorites! I love messing about with paints and colouring in stuff.

Isn't this pretty? And so simple (Well, OK, you have to like doing it) - the post box outline is a stamp, the fence posts outline is another, and so it the path stones. All the shading is hand done and all the greenery, grasses, bush and flowers are all made up from the tiny watercolour stamps.

I just love it

USING MY IMAGES

I can see that the bench is going to be a 'cute' zone for a while. I have loads more images to paint (I love colouring in!), and then I can make up cards from them. Must do some small tag books as well, there are only a couple left

TOPPERS

Considering the hyper-active week I am having - I thought I would have a 'restful' time on the bench. I have been painting in some on the stamped image that I have collected.
I have all sorts of images that people have sent me.

Some are really good clear stamped images,

Some - well, need a bit of loving care.

But - I tell you this - I have had a really relaxing time colouring them in - and I will make up in to cards!!

In the mean time - I have listed them on my site.

Get them before I do ! ! !

Loads of all sorts here!

DAY OFF?

Monday is normally my day off, but it was such a beautiful day that I was working in the garden again. Got the cabin veranda painted with wood treatment, and the underside of the roof.
Then I gave the inside a good sort out and clean over: finally settled down with fidget to watch Memoirs of a Gashia around 3pm.
The ISP was off all day (hence the morning post) so I could not do anything on line - watched telly instead!!

FMS / SCRAPBOOK

Today has been just amazing - I slept in (missed church), and when I woke up - - - I HAD ENERGY.

It is unbelievable what a bit of 'normal' can do. I have cleared all the grotty, tatty ground cover from the front garden flower bed, turned it all over and planted a Hebe and some spring primroses. Princelet helped me get rid of a fir treed that was growing too big and we put in a contortus in it's place. The front looks lovely and neat.

Then I went to Homebase and got some plants to plant up an empty bed at the bottom of the garden - went herbs, lavender, sage, rosemary, thyme - all variegated (except the lavender!), with spring polys in-between. I also took down the first fence panel of the new raised area and dug the trench for the brick wall.

AND I hovered all through downstairs and cleaned the kitchen.

Now, doctors - that's why FMS/CFS is not all in the mind - when I have energy I forget that I can't do stuff: it just gets done!

PS. then I had a relaxing hour doing a scrap book page just for you!
the card stock is mid gray and the patterned paper is grungy sunflowers, embossed and sanded - basic gray rub-ons - all edges are inked in black. The photos are my walking boots after walking on Cockerham Sands with the guys last holidays.

NEW CARD

There is a real buzz of spring in the air today. I have been doing a bit in the garden. Got rid of some grotty ground cover plants and planted some super herb bushes. It's great to see the garden sprouting back to life.

Speaking of which:

My new stamp - layered up the stamped images and put over patterned paper - with a contrast stripe and some paper flowers at the side.

FREE TIME

I went out to lunch with my dear vicar friend today.

I hardly see the old goat these days - he has got so much work on. He brings me my breakfast and tea in bed (so I stay out of the way!), then he disappears up to his attic. Most nights he comes down for his dinner, then he works til got midnight. I know we can't moan, we actually have money in the bank, and that's a first for this time of year (normally we are into the over draft until Easter comes and the season kicks off again): but I have been getting a bit lonely.

Anyway, I felt like a treat out (and seeing another human being), so us girls met up for lunch. We ended up at The Chocolate House. Cute or what? My poor little friend is very down at the moment. It has been a really tough winter on the fells this year. It is never easy: but this year has been even worse. There are farmers still waiting for farm subsidies from last April, then we had such a wet summer, and now the snow is lingering about on the top of the mountains. Some farms are so remote that they have no mains gas/electric/drains/water (even we can't get Sky reception). Remote looks very cute in the pictures, until the well is frozen so you have no water, or toilet, and the oil tank is almost empty and it will be £500 to fill it up (IF the tanker can get down the lane), and you can't get across the ice to the barn to chop the wood for the fires. And that's only 9 miles from us!

So my poor little friend was really down and I could not cheer her up. I think everyone here is holding their breath and hoping for a decent spring to get things going again - and a brilliant, sunny, hot, long summer to get things back on track!

NEW CARD

I had to do some more 3 fold flower garland cards. They are good sellers these - I always think there are some in the box , and then they are all gone.

I have some new Morsels to use from the Co Craft order, so I added them to the mixture . I have 2 flower type sets and the Connectors one. That's all you need to make some really fun designs.

WHY???

Why is it that when women 'have a few minutes to spare' they fill it by playing bingo on line: if I have a few minutes to spare I am cleaning the kitchen worktops.
Yeah, I know: it's the same reason they are always glam-ed up, and I am not!

DID YOU KNOW?

I was checking out the Do Craft sale offers - they have got some amazing offers there. I bought an almost A6 stamp reduced from £10 to 50p. Yes you heard 50p. I have wanted one of those roller ball tools since they came out, but every time I picked one up I could not spend the £7 - got one for £3, that's better!
The postage is pretty hefty at £4, but I spent just over £21 (inc post) and the normal prices would have been £80+ (I gave up counting).
Go and check it out the See D's and Morsel stamps are so cheap.

NEW CARD

Recently I have added a load of stitched topper to my shop: I still do a lot of stitching when I am in my house. I thought I had better put my craft where my mount is (as it were!), and work up a sample.

So here you go . .

The teddy is cross stitch. I made a frame mount and set it over a couple of antique sort of papers, I was trying to make it more 'grown up' and elegant. I am going to scribe 'if friends were flowers . . ' I think.

I am very pleased with the effect - there are loads of topper in my shop - here (except this one of course!). Think I will do a couple more.

?

Funny day here really.

I really fancied doing something today - going to see the agility group - or working on the outside together, but the old goat is snowed under with work and I was left at a bit of a loose end to muddle about on my own.

Well I have got the units in My House all set up, and the back fitted - then I tiled it (if it drys ok I will put a photo up tomorrow - and if it's a total disaster, I am leaving the country).
As I have been 'trying' to learn a new script, I have not got much on the go - card wise. So I have been clearing up a few, well 'oldies'

I did manage a bit of clearing up in my office though

I love this card (I should do, I made it the Christmas before last!), it's red embossing paste with glitter lightly sprinkled over it. I finally got around to doing the text plate. Would the be 10 months early or 10 month late???

CHALLENGE

This is my card for http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/

HI GUYS!!!

This weeks challenge is 'cupcakes', which REALLY threw me. I don't have all the stamping resources that others seem to have. Then I remembered the I had ONE strip of patterned cupcake border 'somewhere', and I had to build round that. I also had 3 (and only 3) odd cake sequins in the box.

So here you go - - - it's quite cute really (I can guarantee it will be totally different to everyone else's!!!

STUDY DAY

I have been at class today. The theme was romantic, and we were using rose flower heads, and as they are quite deep, we made boxes to put them in with matching detail.

This is the box - 5" x 5", 2 punched leaf stems, 3 rose heads, ribbon tied in a bow. The roses and bow are highlighted with gold glitter and the background has green pearl drops.

.
THEN
.

This is the card. 4Punched leaf shapes, 5 roses ans so on.

I love these large punched shapes, they are really great to put at the back of all sorts of flower arrangement cards (there is a fern to which is also super). Trouble is - each one costs £12. I just can't spend that on 1 punch until the business is earning more.

I have this brilliant idea for a new range of luxury boxed cards, made to order with initials or numbers on for special ages and anniversaries.

I can't scan then very well because of the depth, so don't know if it makes a good enough impression

COMISSION

Do you want to see the poem I did last week? No idea where the words came from, the customer might have created it herself - it was a present for a homeopath so it was really good.

SCRAP BOOK PAGE

Did you know that the small 6" or 8" patterned pads are exactly the same patterns as the 12" pads - just shrunk down. So you can use a 6" square along with 12" strips to echo the design. I love piling up patterns over patterns and having that echoing pattern helps pull it all together

WAY BEHIND!

Gosh what a week! I am way behind with my site and posting here, I don't know where the week has gone.

Tell you what, I will show you the commission that is going to Norway - then add a couple more posts with other stuff.

It had to be kept as light and flat as I could because of the post. I matted with papers and kept everything flat - I even took off the bow that was already on the topper undid it, pulled off all the glue, and set it flat in a loop. I put a greeting inside as well.

Diamond anniversary (60 years) on Valentine's day - how sweet it that?

SCRAP BOOK PAGE

I have been very good kitten today, and have been working on my commissions. One has been collected, and she was thrilled - it's just so fantastic when someone is pleased - makes it all worthwhile! The other sketch has been approved - but before I tune in to it to finish; I did a quick scrap book page, just to clear my head.

I had quite a big order arrive from the Scrap Shed (http://www.scrapshed.co.uk/). Never used them before, but I fancied a couple of the templates they had - and there was a sale on, so I rummaged about, and bought a few bits, like you do.

There were some wonderful grungy browns, reds and greens papers and I could not wait to get in and chop them up!
