NEW CARD
Had a lovely afternoon at the bench making this card
There is something really meditation like about Copic work
- you have to choose an image
- which means finding the mood/idea you are in
- you have to choose your papers first
- which means you have to sort through your papers looking for something to suit the image (and your mood)
- then you need a card stock to pull it all together
- Then you need some sort of idea for a layout so you can bring in an inked background - or a bit of embossing )or both)
- Then you pick the Copics to match your papers
- and colour - which is meditation in it's self
- the you cut and mat and mount and tinker and fiddle and ink edges and line stuff up
What better way to spent an afternoon?

DRAWING
Wan'a see my guinea pigs?
It is so odd when you sit down to crate a drawing - the hardest bit to get over is still 'I can't - I am not clever enough - I am not an artist' type stuff.
It is so odd that we are so quick to find the bad stuff instead of - hay - I drew a guinea pig ain't that clever.
So go get a pen and do stuff - you can you know

PHEW
It has sure been hot and windy out in the old fields the weekend. Very slow business wise for me - but the old goat was very busy. The dogs were gorgeous - as always - loads of kisses and cuddles. Several people qualifies to go to Cruft's next year - well done them.
We took the palace guard dog on Sunday - I used to do agility with him until I got too unwell - and he loves going to watch. He is so good - he is a very doggie-dog and not at all interested in me or people - but he does love his Evsie and he has to keep the old goat in sight.
I took Fidget today - bless him - total bag of nerves. Only his second big all dog event - and he really can't get his little half brain call round all the dogs doing odd things. He is very much a mummy's boy, and still very uncomfortable with it all so he kept me occupied all day. He is crashed out on the sofa now - totally wrecked.
Busy day tomorrow - but next focus is on drawing some guinea pig images for a lady with a guinea pig site who wants to carry cards.

NEW CARD
Did you know there are loads of new Cuttlebug plates out? After being 'left on the shelf' for a couple of years, Provo craft have been going mad with new releases - with all sorts of ideas.
Some of the embossing folders are now bigger - proper A5 size so you can do a whole background - or cut out bigger shapes to emboss
This is a bigger version of Swiss dots - huge spots.
There are loads of new designs and several of them are in the larger size - I quite like this one and the one called 'Clockwork'.
Mice are PennyBlack - Coloured with Copics

TIP
Just a little tip for you - feeling very groggy and not done much today

You know when you stamp an image and have not got the pressure quite even, and you have missed or got patchy bits.

You know when you stamp an image and have not got the pressure quite even, and you have missed or got patchy bits.
This is the Copic multi liner - you can get a disposable version for about £2/3 so it's not too pricey - and you can re-draw the bits you missed with the stamping. Get the 0.25mm to start with, and it gives you a really fine line (you can always go over it to thicken it up).
The multi liner is Copic proof AND waterproof - so you can use it on any image, what ever you are going to colour with (and there are several different colours in the refillable ones)
I use a lot of very large stamps and this tip comes in really handy - it's so demoralising to stamp something 2-3-4 times and still have a small blemish on it. Now all I do is correct it

SHOWS
Been out at the Bendrig trust to day - fund raiser. Had a great day - thanks all. Great fun trying to catch my display racks blowing about int he wind!!! Ended up putting the big frame out of the way and just putting the boxes on the table and everyone rummaged. Sold several dragons - must go and tell sweetpea, she will be chuffed

NEW CARD
Dragon - now that's a surprise
The backing paper is a yellow gingham check - embossed and inked with 2 browns and a yellow Distress ink - then inked round the edges with gold ink - it is just such a pretty effect, and you can change the ink colours to match the image you are using.
The effect behind the dragon is a swirly alcohol ink mix with metalic gold added.
Dragon coloured in Copics.
Then I had a good clear out. Stripped off the big book case shelf by shelf and gave everything a good clean - and was really ruthless with the de-junking. I have loads of stitching books to list on EBay - I am never going to take on big stitching projects again -and I have loads of other patterns to do. I have also cleared out my text illumination stuff - it's a whole new discipline and just not a direction I am going in

NEW CARD
Spent the morning getting my office back up and running. Still got loads of shelves to dust and sort out - but it's all back up and functional again.
It's such a relief - and the new window is fantastic. It is just one huge pane of glass and I look out over the distant mountains and high fells round Windermere. Gorgeous.
Todays' card - one of sweetpea's new dragons.
Coloured with Copic and background airbrushed. Now I have had a bit of a re-organise I can get to my air brush more easily I am going to use it more - need more practice with my spray graduating. The cans of air cost £8 each - so I am still a bit jittery when I use it.
The papers are the new DoCraft Hampton - they are really nice.

LIFE
I was having a lovely lie-in this morning (like you do) - thinking 'just another 10 more warm snuggle minutes with Fidget and I will get ready for my yoga class - lovely day planed - involving dragons.
Big knocks on the front door
- guys come to fit the new windows. - What - Excuse me - how much notice - soo not ready - one is for my office (you have seen how packed my office is) - nothing cleared - the old goat on his way out the door to drop son at collage - guys unloading in the front garden.
Panic looks like a kitten grabbing leggings and a tee-shirt before throwing stuff in boxes.
I cleared the bedroom - that's not a problem - not much in there as I only de-junked last week (thank heavens) - my office - WHOLE OTHER BALL GAME THAT. 3 Morrison's plant boxes (had planned for as least) and 2 washing baskets later - yikes
The guys have done 2 of the windows - and cracked the glass in mine so have to come and replace it on Friday - but son's room needs a bigger hole cut and will have to wait a few days more. He has moved into my summer house as his room is upside down with all my office stuff. The old goat is going to do a couple of alteration while I have the shelves stripped off
so - basically - I have done no work - just fretted and stressed - Like I really need that today.
I have tomorrow free to re-group and re-organise and sort out

NEW STAMPS
My new dragons arrived - yeahhhh
I am so chuffed.
I have spent all my EBay money now. Had got used to having a bit to 'throw arround' - how am I going to get new Copics now??
Small confession - I have all the V and BV (well - they are such small groups!!) - and I have actually used up all of one ciao and had to replace it with a sketch.
Since you ask - it was a light E - E31 - use that in just about everything - brilliant to blend over with on just about anything - give it a go. I often blend with a different colour - 'cos I can - try it yourself

NEW BOOK
You know that love verse - Love is patient, love is kind? - It's from quite a long verse in the Bible. I thought I would make a fan book out of it. It's ages since I did a proper calligraphy piece, and I have an idea which involves stitching

LIFE
I have been a bit short on project this week. Since I have been selling on EBay - it's grown and grown - and when I put on all my mum's Stitchcraft Magazines - it's gone wild. I have had several weeks with loads of money to spend at Cult Pens - and I have some new Sweetpea stamps on the way - and not time to use them.
That is not the proper way to do stuff!!!!
I spend the morning sorting out the parcels to go out - an after lunch take the dogs for a walk down to the post office. Which is nice - lovely stick chase in the park Henry loves that - but by the time we get home - and update everything - that's it - me pooped.
Serious promise - will get my act together - and my pens sorted - and new projects in the pipeline - cross-my-heart-and-won't-eat-dirt

Tuesday
Morning after the day before - was at a show all day yesterday.
It was quite a long day for me - we were on the road at about 8.30am, and we did not get home until just after 5pm. Most people do that (plus more) everyday, and I think I have done a lot. I set up my stall in the church yard and stood all day. It was a little slow in the morning - not many people around, but it got busier lunchtime.
Me - wrecked. I am just so tired. I am going to see my osteopath this afternoon - this is the first time she has seen me so close after a day's work, so it will be interesting to see what she thinks
